They may try but there just isn't another browser that can surpass Firefox on a range of fronts. Security has just been improved again which must mean at this stage that IE is well and truly out of sight, speaking of which, I recently heard of some major bugs in IE7beta when it comes to CSS (here we go again!). Opera is making shapes at being the king of all rounders, especially if it gets comfy in bed with Nintendo and various handheld manufacturers.
But getting back to Firefox, its still a memory hog but hopefully that can be worked on before version 2 is released. Everything else, in my opinion, is as good as it gets. It was funny to see the "welcome to tabbed browsing" screen of IE7 - by now it must be old news for everyone bar the truly clueless, and I guess they like that kind of stuff!
Tabbed browsing just blows me away!
Extensions, extensions, extensions.
Secure.
More standards compliant than IE.
Memory hog issue still lingering
